NEW DELHI : Reacting to country finance minister recent statement in which he refused farmer loan waiver, AAP leader Gopal Rai today said that Jaitley’s statement has exposed BJP’s lies and their anti-farmer stand.

“PM Modi had promised to exempt interest on farmer debts,” he said while showing a video of Modi’s speech. “But his close aide, finance minister Arun Jaitley has exposed their politics of lies by stating that centre can’t pay for farmer debts.”

He also alleged that wherever BJP is in government, farmers are being deceived and cheated. “In the BJP’s election manifesto of Madya Pradesh, they had promised to implement Swaminathan Ayog, according to which farmers were to get fifty per cent   profit on the cost of crops. But now, even when their tenure is coming to an end, they have failed to deliver.”

He said that not even in Madya Pradesh, farmer in other states are also feeling cheated. “In Uttar Pradesh, Gujrat, Maharashtra and other states, farmers are coming out to protest against the unfulfilled promises of the BJP government as they feel cheated.”

AAP has also demanded FIR against those who are involved in killing seven farmers in Mandsour. “Those who shot dead the farmers for demanding their rights must be brought to book,” he said.

“There are several other demands coming from the farmers across the country and we are holding Rashtriya Kisan Confrence, a round table conference, on June 17th to listen to their demands and to map out our future action plan,” Rai announced.
