Absence of Notified Disposal Area Creates Huge Garbage Problem for Noida

On Thursday garbage of the city could not be collected or disposed because of a order passed by National Green Tribunal. The order has created a troublesome situation for Noida Authority as the city has no notified dumping area.
According to the order of ( NGT) Authority can only dump its garbage in notified area, but city don’t have any notified area for this yet.
As per estimates Noida city creates 600 metric ton of garbage everyday, excluding electric & medical waste . Till now garbage was used to be dumped at sector 137 & 138. But now after the order, the site cannot be used unless its notified.
It is being said that Authority is working for making it a notified dumping area. In recent past CEO and Chairman of Noida Authority Alok Tandon has also visited the dumping yard . Near dumping yard there are many residential societies as well which are facing problem because of bad odour from garbage. The residents also face a risk of communicable diseases and they had complained couple of times to the officer of Authority.
So now Authority is also planning for proper waste management which been marked in village Astuali, however it will take around a year to construct it.
