New Delhi: In the recent allocation of lands for the landfill site by the Delhi Development Authority (DDA), AAP has filed a petition in the National Green Tribunal (NGT) and demanded to cancel allotment of dumping lands at Sonia Vihar and Ghonda today in Delhi.

AAP alleged that the area allocated for the landfills is densely populated and it will adversely affect the life of local resident.

Addressing media on Monday at Party office, AAP national spokesperson Dilip Pandey said, “The party has moved an application before the National Green Tribunal (NGT) against the proposed landfill site in densely populated areas of the national capital.  The recent allocation of land for the landfill site by the DDA  that falls under East Delhi has been done without any proper application of mind by the concerned authorities.”

The application filed before the National Green Tribunal by councillor Manoj Tyagi, Dilip Pandey, MLA Dutt Sharma and Kuldeep Kumar.

In the application, AAP has argued that the recent allocation has done without any proper survey and the landfills are located in the residential area, which will adversely affected the life of local resident.

Besides, AAP is running a signature campaign on “Koode Ka Pahar Hatao” to create awareness among the locals.
