On 10 November a one day sensitization workshop on drug abuse and prevention was organised by NISD, Ministry of social justice & Empowerment at Savitri Bai Phule Balika Inter college. Program Started with light lamping  ceremony by eminent guests invited as a part of formal inauguration of work shop.

After that memento were facilitated to the chief guest of the workshop Anand Katoch, Director of (NISD) Ministry of Social justice & Empowerment and guest of honour Kumar Vineet, ADM Gautam Buddha Nagar by Reema Day principal of the SBPBIC school and to the various dignitaries as a token of love and gratitude. A interactive session with students was conducted by Dr Shilpi in which she explained in detail about problem caused due to drug addiction and about its preventive Measures by the help of power point presentation.

Later the chief guest of the work shop expressed his views to students. He thanked the state and school administration for such a social welfare initiative. He said “as we see youths start doing drugs just to be cool and for enjoyment but sooner they became addicted to it and many time films and social media is the reason behind it. The matter of concern is not only the demand of drugs but also the supply line we have to break it. So drugs is beyond the reach of youngsters. Further he said our country had strict laws against drugs for example- for having 250 gram of heroine a person can have 10 years of imprisonment .”

A Pentamime show named udyesh on the theme of “SAY NO TO DRUGS” was performed by theatre artist Manoj with his team which received very much appreciation from audience side. And a skit by school students for bringing awareness among students against drug abuse.

Dr Reema Day while talking to ten news said “As we are having residential school so we want to aware our students what’s happening in the society so when we had a call from NISD and we thought  this is the best way to make children’s aware regarding this issue and we invited all schools from Greater Noida and we have around 12 hundred students here. And it is not typical seminar but a whole interactive and lovely awareness program we had today.
