Arvind Kejriwal interacts with newly elected 10,000 SMC members & launches SMC App

NEW DELHI: Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia interacted with newly elected 10,000 SMC members and launched the SMC App at Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium on Thursday.

The Delhi government launched mobile application to assist the members of school management committees (SMCs) in their functioning.The SMCs have 16 members each comprising a teacher, a principal, 12 parents, an MLA and a social activist.

“The SMC app will not only provide a virtual platform to the management bodies to connect with the members and be updated on issues pertaining to the functioning of the schools but also act as a record maintenance tool,” Deputy CM Manish Sisodia said.

CM Arvind Kejriwal interacting with SMC Media said, “I thank all the SMC members for their involvement and also all parents to be elected in SMC and In this education budget, we will arrange funds of three to four lakh rupees per child for the SMC of every school”.

“We all have to improve our government schools together, all the SMC’s should have a competition to improve their schools”, added Kejriwal.
