ATM fraud gang active in Noida, exchanges cards to debit money from unsuspecting individuals

Incidents of looting cash by exchanging the ATM from unsuspecting individuals are on raise in Noida- Greater Noida region. While one such gang was busted by Greater Noida police few months back, similar gangs are still active in the area from past 6 months. Victims claim that police just registers an FIR over the complaints and then after a month files a closer report in the incident to shut the case.

Many of these incident take place at sector 24 ATM situated near ESI hospital and Chauda Mod area of Noida. The particular spot has registered over a dozen of such incidents in last few months.

This time police had registered an FIR on the complaint of Pranjal a resident of sector 22 regarding fraud of 96 thousand rupees which was committed by exchanging his ATM and doing the withdrawal.

Pranjal said that he went to ESI hospital ATM to debit  money when 3 youngsters entered the ATM and told him that ATM in not working so he will not be able to debit the money. They had also seen his ATM pin when he was attempting to withdraw money. Then somehow they managed to divert his attention by striking a conversation and exchanged his card only to debit large amount of money later.

Speaking about the incident police station incharge Dileep Singh Bisht said  “We are in contact with bank and details are being recovered with help of installed cameras and, the gang soon will be nabbed”.
