Auto Expo 2018 : All about India’s State of Art Test and Development Centre, “NATRAX”!

Natrax is one of the state of art testing and certification centers of the automotive industries, under NATRIP, a flagship project of Ministry of Heavy Industry, Government of India. It is near to vibrant industrial township of Pithampur in Madhya Pradesh. The center is approximately 50 Kilometers from the commercial hub of Madhya Pradesh i.e Indore. The project was planned under the automotive mission plan launched by Government of India.

NATRAX has also set up a stall at ongoing Auto Expo 2018 where it is promoting the venture amongst giants of Indian Automobile Industry. Ten News spoke to Sagar R Bendre, Engineer at National Automotive Test Tracks to more details of this project.

He said, “NATRAX will serve as a comprehensive test facility and will provide one stop solution for development, Certification and R&D Projects to National / Global automotive and auto component industries through its proving ground (Test Tracks) and center of excellence in Vehicle Dynamics. The Centre has been developed in approx. 3000 acres of land received from the state of Madhya Pradesh”.

There are 13 existing tracks in the facility whereas one more is under development. Talking about the same Sagar says, “We have different tracks keeping in with different needs of auto industries. There is a dynamic platform with total length of 1.8 Km and Straight lane of about 1,500m. Similarly we have multi-function braking track, Gradient track, Noise Track, Handling Track, Comfrot Track, Wet Skid Pad, Fatigue Track, Sustainability track, gravel & Off Road Circuit, High Speed Truck, vehicle instrumentation lab among other things”.
