Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapathi announces in-principle approval for 3000 ha greenfield airport at Jewar

After a series of meetings between higher officials of aviation ministry, defense ministry officials and other stake holders, the in-principle clearance has been granted for development of another airport near New Delhi.
The airport will come up at Jewar region of Greater Noida.

Making the announcement on social media website twitter Union Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju said, “We have granted in-principle approval for a greenfield airport at Jewar( Greater Noida) to cater to the growing flying requirements of NCR”

He further added, “Noida International Airport will cater to 30-50 miilion passengers per year over the next 10-15 years”.

He also detailed about the area of the airport and informed that the area notified for Noida airport is 300 h in which 1st phase will be developed for 1000 ha. The expected investment is of Rs 15-20 thousand crores.
