Greater Noida’s AVJ heights society is once again in the eye of storm and this time the issue is of electricity bill payment.

As per NPCL the high rise society has pending dues of about 58 lakh rupees. The amount has accumulated in the last three months, however the residents claim to have already paid the builder’s. They want NPCL to take action against the builder and ensure recovery of the past bill from him withy interrupting the power supply of the society.

While protesting at NPCL office a concerned resident said, “The bill of July was of 66 Lakh rupees and by and by 10th of August the amount was deducted to 58Lakh which clearly shows that about eight lakh rupees were paid within a period of 10 days only by the residents. Hence it shows that residents have no qualms in paying their due amount for the electricity consumption”.

The newly formed society association is now handling the welfare issues of the AVJ residents. On July 31st it also claims to have written a letter to NPCL informing them about the fact that all bill payments have been made in advance by the society residents to the builder’s and recovery must be done from him.

Emphasizing on the builder fraud, the resident association has requested NPCL officials to find a solution of the issue. Association has also assured that the future bills will be paid on time as builder will have no role in to it.

To make there voices heard, large number of residents also protested at NPCL office on Monday night. NPCL hasn’t made any commitment till the writing of this report.
