BIMTECH Sabrang Mahotsav 2018: Gandhi statute to be unveiled in campus, week long cultural spread to mesmerize audience

North India’s premier business institute, Birla Institute of Management and Technology, Greater Noida is going to observe it’s 31st Foundation day with a week long celebration of culture and tradition.

A media briefing was organised today at BIMTECH campus in this regard to share details of the week long extravaganza.

Speaking at the presser, noted academician and BIMTECH Director Dr. H Chaturvedi said, “BIMTECH takes pride in spreading the message of Gandhian learnings and philosophy through observing different events throughout the year. Our foundation day coincides with the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and we are going to celebrate it with much joy and fervor through a well long celebrations. As this year also marks the 150th Birth Anniversary of Gandhi hence imprints of his teachings and thoughts could be seen on the events of the celebrations.”

Elaborating further on the significance of such events for the student community, he said, “BIMTECH believes in all-round development. We believe that every student must be groomed in all aspects of life. Such events provide them with an opportunity to get closer to Indian culture and heritage as well as gives them a chance to soak in the traditions of diverse Indian ethos. They also get to learn a lot by organising the event and taking different roles and responsibilities in the successful organisation of this week long program.” 

The event starting from 29th September will witness three amazing play’s on first three days namely, Ram Lila, Pagdi Sambhal Jatta and Gandhi@Godse.com.

This will be followed by the foundation day lecture by Arun Maira, former member of planning commission and former Chairman, Boston Consulting Group. On the same day, a 6 feet tall statue of Mahatma Gandhi will also be unveiled in the university campus.
The statue of father of the nation is being made in his iconic sitting posture, same as the one in Indian parliament. With the inauguration of this statue, the tallest leader of our country and flag bearer of world peace will continue to inspire youths for generations through his presence in the campus. There will also be a community feast in the traditional Indian format, on this occasion to propagate the message of service, humility and inclusivity.

On October, 3 there will be an amazing Jashn-e-Qawwali performed by Qutbi brothers. October 4th, will have Kathak Recital by National Youth Award winner artist Akshay Kumar, belonging to Agra Gharana.

There will also be a Sham-e-Ghazal on October 5 with performances of Violinist Ustad Aleem Khan and Singer Shakeel Ahmed Khan.

The grand festivities will culminate in October 6, with a Kavi Sammelan and Mushaira in the presence of iconic poets including Rahat Indori, Pratap Faujdar, Kirti Kale among others.

Also present during the press conference were professor KR Chari, professor Saloni Soha, research fellow Surabhi Gahlan along with members of BIMTECH media conduit Aastha Maheshwari, Ananya Pandey and others.
