This statement by Mahatma Gandhi has stood the test of time. Birla Institute of Management and Technology (BIMTECH), Greater Noida has the privilege to share its birth anniversary i.e. it’s Foundation Day with that of the Father of the Nation. It isn’t a mere coincidence that the institute’s foundation day is celebrated on 2nd October every year; but is doneso to honor the bond that the founder of the Birla legacy Mr. BK Birla and Late Mrs. Sarala Birla shared with Mahatma Gandhi.

This year BIMTECH is celebrating its 30th Foundation Day by organizing SABRANG Utsav-a plethora of cultural and literary events where in a host of renowned artists of the country will be seen performing traditional and modern dance, music, recitals,fun and entertainment activities.

Majlis the debating and theater society was privileged to flag-off the eight days celebrations which commenced on 30th September,2017 with an acclaimed drama “Jis Lahore NaiDekhya…O JamyaiNai” (One who has not seen Lahore has not lived), directed by Shri Arvind GaurofASMITA Theater Group, which is one of the leading Hindi theatre groups in the country. ASMITA Group stands committed to aesthetically innovative and socially relevant theatre. “Jis Lahore NaiDekhya…O JamyaiNai”is a story set in 1947, about an old Hindu woman in Lahore who, robbed of her son and family as a result of the riots in partition refuses to be robbed of her home by a Muslim refugee family from Lucknow.

The Foundation Day inaugural event was graced by Chief Guest Mr. Kamal Singh, DG-United Nations Global Compact Network and Dr. Shirish Nigam, Director-EW Nutrition. It was also attended by the BIMTECH family and acclaimed people from administration and neighborhood communities.

The audience enjoyed the enthralling performance of the ASMITA Theater group, whichsucceed in provoking the dying conscious of the audience as they could relate with the whole tale. It sent out a strong message to the community at large that a divide that stood testimony to violence, hate, prejudice, and fervor can still be overcome by love and affection.

There couldn’t have been a better start to the festivities at the campus on the auspicious day of Dussera. The BIMTECH family is excited to enjoy the week long SABRANG Utsavwhich will be showcasing performances by acclaimed artists from 30th September-8th October,2017.
