Birla Institute of Management Technology celebrated its 30th foundation day in the most unique way imaginable. The day started a Foundation Day Lecture organized by Media Conduit which included a very engaging address by Mr. Sanjeev Bikchandani (founder and executive vice chairman of Info Edge Company which owns Naukri.com, Jeevansathi.com, 99acres.com). He guided the masses how in the initial years of their career they must look for meaning in their job rather than money and how they must never become a prisoners of their visiting cards. They should always stay aware and in touch otherwise they’d only get filtered information from the people around them. He told students ways on how to become a Magnet for talent and make people want to work for them by being humble, honest, keeping commitments and creating win-win situations.

This followed an address by Mr. R Sukumar editor of Mint newspaper from HT Media and he’ll be taking over as the next editor of Hindustan Times. His talk largely consisted of how people don’t recognize their calling until very late in life. “It’s imperative to keep our eye open for finding our purpose –our compass”, he said. Later part of his talk included a bit about economy where he discussed reasons why India was named among the fragile five countries.

The foundation day lectures concluded with Q&A session where students were made clear that how success and money are false Gods and it’s a futile trend of chasing them rather students should be driven by the challenge of solving problems. And later on felicitations followed as well as 3 books were launched with a newer version of BIMTECH website.

The next event was ‘Community Feasting’ which is a tradition observed by Bimtech since past few years and is responsibly organised by Food Conduit. In this feast the food is first served to all the helping staff and people of nearby communities by our director, deputy director and various student volunteers. Then the students sit down to eat and all the teachers and dignitaries are the last to eat.

Simultaneously a blood donation camp was organised by the Ranganathan Society of Bimtech in which a lot of students and teachers donated blood.
The afternoon witnessed a very hard hitting play called “MARD” by the talented team of artists of Asmita Theatre Group which talked about male chauvinism which exists in the society in various forms.

Palette club also organised a Creatve Workshop for the girls enrolled in the Chirraiya Project.
As the evening approached, the Sports Conduit came up with various fun games for the students like Kho Kho , Tug of War, Treasure Hunt, Pitthu etc. After this the day was a beautiful wrap.
BIMTECH is enhusiasticallly looking forwards to the upcoming events of “Sabrang Mahotsav”.
