In India it isn’t very uncommon to leave once hometown and state to migrate to metropolitian’s like Delhi or Mumbai in search of better job opportunities and life style. Tripura’s going to be CM Biplab Kumar Deb is one such example, who migrated to Delhi in year 1989 after completing his BA from Agartala’s Tripura University.

Biplab Deb shifted to Delhi to complete his masters and explore job opportunities. As a dedicated RSS worker he also was a frequent visitor to Jhandewalan office.

It is said that during sometime in 2015, senior RSS pracharak Krishna Gopal offered the reins of a Tripura BJP to Biplab Deb to test his love for his homestate and dedication for the party. During those times BJP in Tripura was fairly non-existent with party getting just 1.3% vote share during 2014 election held amid Modi wave.

Biplab’s wife Neeti works in SBI’s parliament street branch and it was really tough for Biplab to choose going to back to Tripura while his spouse and children stay back here for their job and studies respectively. However he took it as a challenge and went back to his home state.

Thereafter he along with Sunil Devdhar started revamping the BJP in Tripura. He was appointed as Tripura BJP president in 2016.

A patient journey from bottom to top:

Owing to his connections within RSS, Bipla Deb has gotten opportunities to work in different roles with Ministers and MP’s. During Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s government he was Union Minister Rita Verma’s personal assistant. Thereafter he also worked with Satna MP Ganesh Singh in similar capacity. He is still said to very close to various party functionaries and RSS leaders.

Excellent camaraderie with peers and party workers:

“Coaches don’t play” was something that Sunil Devdhar has been quoted to have said on being asked on his CM ambitions. The quote itself speaks of the excellent camaraderie that the two shared while working in the state. While Viplab Deb is getting rewarding for his grit, passion and dedication by the party head honcho’s, Sunil Devdhar who was on result day being touted as the architect of this win is happy to stay glued to party posts.
