North MCD Mayor Aadesh Gupta, South MCD Mayor Narendra Chawla and East MCD Bipin Bihari today addressed a joint press conference alleging of non cooperation by Delhi Government and blockage of funds.
All the three Mayor’s presented the data of fund released by Delhi government for different purposes and highlighted the massive drop in amount. They also alleged that many funds have been completely nullified and they have to depend on their tax collections and central aid to even disperse salaries and run day to day operations.
North MCD Mayor Aadesh Gupta also alleged that only PWD has only done 40% sewage cleaning whereas MCD’s have already achieved over 80% target hence the condition can worsen a lot after the arrival of Monsoon.
EDMC Mayor Bipin Bihari said, “CM Arvind Kejriwal is also not following court orders as 2017-18 pending dues of 735crore and 2018-19 fund of 2542 crore has still not been paid to us. Delhi government has not released single penny for salary of sanitation workers. CM Kejriwal is creating anarchy in Delhi as MCD’s are not able to do any development work and neither can carry out any public welfare work because of absence of funds”.
The Mayor of richest MCD South Delhi also said that they are also facing cash crunch due to partisan behaviour Delhi government and are feeling handicapped in working for the welfare of Delhi residents.
MCD is also going to file contempt of court as soon as the court re-opens after summer vacation.
