Blind Cricket Conclave: Celebrates Achievements of Blind Cricket and Success Stories!

New Delhi: Cricket Association for the Blind in India (CABI) and Samarthanam Trust in association with Induslnd Bank organized a Blind Cricket Conclave on Friday at The Lalit in New Delhi. The objective of the conclave was to recall the blind cricket team’s achievements, success stories and discuss the future of blind cricket with ways to widen its reach. A full day event will present a picture on how the visually impaired players have undergone a complete transformation with blind cricket as a career.


The conclave witnessed the gathering of renowned corporates, sponsors, aspiring cricketers, government bodies, media and renowned sportspersons to acknowledge the current scenario of blind cricket and will be exploring collaboration opportunities. The Conclave Was Graced by Veteran Cricketers Like, Madan Lal,Bishan Singh Bedi, Ajay Jadeja, Chetan Chauhan, Syed Kirmani, Mahantesh GK, president of CABI and WBC, CABI officials, Sanjeev Anand, country head – commercial banking, IndusInd Bank and weightlifter Karnam Malleswari, first Indian woman Olympic medal winner, will grace the conclave.

The major topics, which was covered at the conclave, were on the genesis of CABI, its history, achievements and future, the current scenario of CABI, the impact of corporate support on sports, effective collaborations, corporate involvement in disability sports and BCCI involvement in blind cricket. A few eminent cricketers and visually impaired cricket players shared their cricket experiences and discuss on a few playing techniques as well.
