Graft Specialists 1

Brijesh Narayan Singh, 1992 batch UP Provincial Civil Service Officer has been made the new District Magistrate of Gautam Buddha Nagar.

He was till yesterday serving as the Additional Resident Commissioner of UP government in Delhi. Before that he has also served as special secretary of health and family welfare.

Though transfer of N P Singh from. G B Nagar has surprised many residents because of his exemplary work and public-friendly image, bureaucratic reshuffles are a compulsory part of effective governance.

However recent appointments at different posts in G B Nagar district are indicating towards a special interest of Yogi government in the district, particularly ‘land scam deals’.

The ‘Whistle-blower’ connection :

Incumbent DM Brijesh Narayan Singh was termed as a whistle-blower when he was deployed in NDMC. He had red flagged a corruption in NDMC while he was serving as director (tax) in there. He alleged loss of nearly Rs 470 crore to the government in license fee by Hotel Le-Meredien. He had made this complaint to Home Ministry. Following this Home Minister Rajnath Singh constituted a committee. Report from this inquiry finally led to exit of former home secretary L C Goyal.

Graft Specialists 2

Something similar is also an achievement of present Meerut Commissioner and Greater Noida Authority and YEIDA chairman Dr Prabhat Kumar.

He is often termed as graft probe specialist in bureaucratic circle. This 1985 batch IAS officer was key witness in Neera Yadav corruption case. While serving as DCEO in Noida during 1995-97, he bad unearthed many corruption cases.

Dr Prabhat Kumar ..at Centre..Just after assuming the charge..

Dr Prabhat Kumar was very instrumental in exposing Noida scams. He was key witness in CBI probe that sent former Chief Secretary Neera Yadav on three year jail term. The CBI investigated nearly 36 cases of irregular allotment/conversion of plots in Noida, and charge-sheeted , Neera Yadav as well as the then serving IAS officer Rajiv Kumar, in 2002.

Reading between the lines:

Grapevine is abuzz with CM Yogi Adityanath being very serious about probing different land allotment deals of Noida during the period of 2007-2012. The UP Government has repeatedly received multiple complaints regarding allotment of land lease to developers and private companies. While all such previous complaint didn’t see much action, this government doesn’t seems to be in mood to ignore anything. These two fearless and resolute officers might be very crucial in uncovering what could actually be a scam of epic proportion.

Coincidence Much!

It must be noted that Brijesh Singh has also served as Rajnath Singh’s OSD during Vajpayee government. Son of Rajnath Singh, Pankaj Singh is also the current MLA of Noida.
