Bus hits scooter, kills woman riding pillion

Ghaziabad: A 50-year-old woman riding pillion, while her husband rode the scooter, was killed on the spot when a bus rammed the scooter in a hit-and-run case at the Meerut Road T-point in Ghaziabad early on Thursday. The woman’s husband escaped with minor injuries.The accident happened near the New Bus Stand around 6.40am soon after the woman, Avdesh, left her home in Patel Marg with her husband Ratan Singh (55).The bus hit the scooter when Ratan Singh was negotiating the roundabout to access G T Road and go towards Mohan Nagar.”My father suffered injuries in the accident while my mother was killed on the spot. The bus that caused the accident fled the spot immediately.

My father has been discharged from the hospital after receiving treatment,” said the victim’s son, Pradeep (30). The body was sent for postmortem. A complaint was registered at the Sihani Gate police station by Pradeep.An FIR on the basis of the complaint under IPC sections 279 (rash driving), 304A (causing death by negligence), 338 (causing grievous hurt) and 336 (act endangering life and personal safety of others).”The FIR has been registered against the unknown vehicle driver.
