CONRWA Representatives meet Noida CEO Alok Tandon, discuss major issues gripping the city

CONRWA representatives today met Noida Authority CEO Alok Tandon to discuss various issues.
“A meeting was held with authority CEO Alok Tandan on Monday where we discussed the problem of traffic jams, encroachment, garbage, unauthorized hoardings etc.,” said P S Jain, president of Confederation of NCR Residents Welfare Associations (CONRWA).
PS Jain told discussions were done on the issue of traffic management, parking facility and water logging. He raised the issue of water logging during monsoon season in front of CEO and told that at time of monsoon every one talks about it but when the season gets over no one does anything about it. As this is a kind of problem which can not be sorted during monsoon. He further suggested that parking of vehicles be allowed only in authorized designated spot with a board stating the area in sq ft. /meters designated for it, followed by a yellow line as its demarcation.
“The board should also indicate the name and contact number of the authorized parking contractor along with concerned official from authority and traffic police who can be approached in case of a violation of the said rules,” said M L Sharma, treasurer CONRWA and RWA president sector 23.
The delegation also recommended that all such authorized boards at designated parking spots should clearly state the duration (date and duration) of the parking tender to the concerned contractor. Also a ‘no parking’ board be put up in places where there’s no authorized parking so as to ensure clarity in rules and also catch those violating it.
On answering a question asked regarding lack of mutual understanding between Authority and traffic police department he said, “To curb encroachment of roads from vehicular parking (be it by school buses or visitor cars) in residential sectors, the NCR RWA suggested that housing societies and schools should provide parking to visitors and school buses respectively, within their gated complex and not to encroach the sector roads”. Further speaking on increasing mutual cooperation between Noida Authority and traffic police department PS Jain said that, “A committee comprising of district magistrate B N Singh, SSP Love Kumar, SP (City) Arun Kumar and SP (traffic) Anil Jha (the convener of the committee) to study the city’s traffic situation is already in function.”
The committee was formed post a three-member ministerial panel including urban housing and development minister Suresh Khanna, Industries minister Satish Mahana and minister (independent charge) of cane development and sugar mills Suresh Rana had announced (on October 5) that such a committee be formed to address the traffic issues of the city.
“CEO Tandon will hold a subsequent meeting to discuss these measures on Saturday (Nov 4) where CONRWA representatives are also invited. A policy on traffic and other issues will be made in coming days following discussion on these points which were mostly acceptable to CEO Tandon”, he further added.
Anita singh a resident of sector 36 raised the issue of a private company running the sector 36 community center which refused to provide facilities of community center during Navratari and demanded 9000Rs for community hall. She requested for action on private limited company for restricting usage of community center to its rightful users.
The CONRWA delegation urged the removal of all unauthorized hoardings across the city to which Tandon assured of taking necessary action.
