Constitution Day of India 2018: Everything you need to know!

Greater Noida (26/11/18) : Every year we celebrate 26 November as Constitution Day (National Law Day), also known as Samvidhan Divas, to commemorate the adoption of Constitution of India. On 26 November 1949, the Constituent Assembly of India adopted the Constitution of India, and it came into effect on 26 January 1950

On October 12 last year, while laying the foundation stone of the Ambedkar memorial in Mumbai, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had declared that November 26 will be celebrated as the Constitution Day of India.

The aim behind this is to pay tribute to Dr. Ambedkar who played a significant role in the framing of the Indian Constitution as the Chairman of the Drafting Committee of Constituent Assembly.During the his speech Modi had also said that “on this day, every year, school children will be taught about constitution and Dr Ambedkar.”

“Our Constitution has very special place in our lives. We remember Dr Ambedkar whenever we remember the Constitution. Whenever we talk about Constitution, we remember Babasaheb Ambedkar, both are inseparable,” Modi said on this day. He said.

Constitution Day is not a public holiday. Various departments of the Government of India celebrated the first Constitution day. As per the Department of Education and Literacy, the preamble of the constitution was read in all schools by all students. In addition, there were quiz and essay competitions both online and offline on the subject of the constitution of India.

The Constitution of India contains 448 articles in 25 parts, 12 schedules, 5 appendices and 98 amendments. As it has only 98 amendments since its regulation, so also known as one of the world’s best constitution.
