Santosh Murat Singh, who was perceived dead by his family in 2002 after train blasts in UP, today filed his nomination papers for the presidential elections in India.

Santosh, has also participated in the 2017 UP assembly election.

Santosh had gone missing after the train blast. During that time he worked as a cook for Bollywood actor, Nana Patekar.

When he got to know that he was pronounced dead by his relatives and grabbed his property at his native town in Kanpur, he arrived at his village to fight for his rights.

But government authorities had already issued a death certificate in his name that has not been revoked so far.

“I know that my nomination will be rejected, let alone winning the election. But I am doing this only to claim my rights.”
