Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal launches Mukhyamantri Teerth Yatra yojna for the senior citizens of Delhi

New Delhi: Chief Minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal today launched the Mukhyamantri Teerth Yatra yojna for the senior citizens of Delhi. Goverment of Delhi will be baring all the cost of pilgrimage for senior citizens from Vaishno Devi to Anandpur Sahib.

Five destinations are chosen in a tie up with Indian Railway. Senior citizens of Delhi would be taken to Golden Temple, Wagah Border, Anandpur Sahib, Vaishnodevi-Jammu, Mathura, Vrindavan, Horidwar, Rishikesh, Nilkonth, Pushkor and Ajmer under the scheme.

The chance to secure seat in the train will be available on the basis of first come first served basis. The entire train will book from Safdarjung railway station. For the senior citizens in the train, bhajan and aarti will also be played two times. There will be two volunteer services for every trip, along with doctors and para-medical staff.

Speaking on the occasion, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said,

“Today is a very big day for Delhi, from Today onwards pilgrimage scheme has begun for the elderly. One thousand people will be sent every year, people can immediately apply for this scheme.”

He further said, “We as a Society must Love and Respect our Elders. We must seek their Blessings. We will continue to work for the betterment of Society. Pray for all of our well-being.”
