New Delhi: On International Labour Day, Delhi Congress came down heavily on Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government for the lapse of funds allocated for the welfare of labours and no direction in party’s polices for the upliftment of labours and poors.

Addressing media, Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) Chief Spokesperson Samhishta Mukharjee said, “AAP government has drastically failed to use more than Rs 50 crores allocated by his own government for the welfare of labours last year.”

By showing copy of the government report, she alleged, “In 2017-18, APP government had allocated around Rs 50 to 60 crore for labour’s development under various schemes like welfare of labours, Delhi unorganised workers social security board GIA to Delhi Labour Welfare Board and so on but failed to utilise funds for their development and they claim themselves party of poors and labours.”

Moreover, since last two-three years, Delhi government has not added any name into the registered labour list. “In 2014, the figure of registered labour under Delhi government was 416927. In 2015, it was 415278 and in 2016, it was 416833. The data of Delhi government proves that no new names have been added in the list.”

“The above date is enough to prove that AAP government has done nothing for the development of labours and what CM Kejriwal is claiming is only a gimmick”, she asserted.
