New Delhi: Delhi government and the United States of America tying hand to curb air pollution of the national capital.
The US government has agreed to provide real-time pollution data to the Government of Delhi which will help to identify the source of pollution in Delhi round the year.
Subsequently, Delhi government will use this data to identifying the source of pollution in different months in a year and take follow up actions to curb air pollution.
The news bring relief for AAP government and residents when Air pollution has become one of the biggest problem of the city and State government faced heat owing to it.
On Friday, United States Ambassador to India Kenneth I Juster called on Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal and discussed partnership in several areas including pollution.
The Chief Minister informed the Ambassador of the agreement between Delhi Government and University of Washington on pollution. Washington University will be providing real-time pollution data to the Government of Delhi. The data will help identifying the source of pollution in Delhi round the year.
“This data will help the government in taking action to curb pollution by identifying the source of pollution in different months in a year,” says party in its official note.
The Chief Minister also said that he would like to have more cooperation in areas like pollution with the US. “I would like to meet, if any of the experts on the area are coming to India to know the best practices to be implemented in Delhi also,” said the Chief Minister.
“We are also open to ideas on any other sector also, we can be technology partners in various areas,” said the CM.
In reply to CM, US Ambassador said that he will definitely inform and keep in touch over the areas where partnership is required.
According to sources, the two also discussed the relationship between India and United States and the people to people cooperation between the two countries.
