“Justice Anil Dev Singh Committee’s recommendation to Private Schools to refund excess fee with nine per cent interest has been totally ignored by the 449 private schools”, said Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday during a press conference.

Earlier, private schools hiked the fee despite having adequate funds, and were subsequently asked by the court to return the excess fees to parents.

He said that, “we are not against the private schools however all the 449 private schools must accept the recommendation of Justice Anil Dev Singh at the earliest, if they refuse to do it, we have to take over the schools”, he added.

Talking about the issue, Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia said that,” we assure you that, excess fees taken by private schools will be refunded and our aim is to provide quality education at a normal cost”.
