New Delhi: Delhi is an important tourist destination and also a transit point where from international and national tourist make future journey to various other tourist places. Tourist at times face several problems related to transport, accommodation, getting tourism related information and many times they fall victim to cheats and touts losing their belongings and valuables. To help tourists, Delhi Police today Launched 15 Tourist MPVs which will be deployed at important tourist places/locations.
The main objective of these Tourist MPVs will be to avoid harassment to the tourist by touts and to help tourist in getting transtport and lodging at appropriate rate and without much hassle at Railway Station, Airports Bus Terminals, important tourist places, malls etc.
Providing information related to the Capital of Delhi and other adjoining tourist places will also be one the soul purpose of this Delhi police initiative.
Speaking on the occasion, Delhi Police Commissioner, Amulya Patnaik said,
“The tourism vans were doing a great job now we will focus on other areas as well where tourists are most likely to come. Be it Domestic Tourists or International these MPVs will take care of the tourists any query. So today we wil be flagging off these Tourist vans. My request is only for everyone present here is that it’s a very important programme for you. Delhi Police Reputation in India and Internationaly depends on the basis of the interaction we have with the tourist. The reputation of police will increasee on that basis only. You guys are provided with training so you guys can help them.”
