New Delhi : No street vendor should be harassed or evicted from the city roads during an ongoing drive being carried out by civic bodies without following the due process of law, Delhi High Court passed this comment back in September 2018.

Today, street vendors from across Delhi came at NDMC office’s outskirts demanding justice for all the Rehri Patri Vendors.

Almost hundred Street Vendors along with their family demanded resignation of NDMC Director Rajshekhar who according to them, is another corrupt person from Central Government.

Speaking to Ten News, woman from the family of one Street Vendor said, “Inhone Hamara Jeena Haraam Kr Rkha Hai”, she said sharing the condition of her family due to the bad treatment given to them by NDMC employees.

When asked about Rajshekhar, one person commented, “Rajshekhar to Chor Hai Aur Ise Htaana Bht Zruri Hai”.

The court, which fixed the matter for September 28 last year, said the authorities should not evict, disturb or harass any street vendor in the city.

But when we thoroughly notice the situations these street vendors are facing, we won’t get any sight of positive change in their living standards.
