Demanding Separate Ministry Rashtriya OBC Mahasangh launches nationwide movement

New Delhi: Castigating the authorities for failing to provide 2011 census data on OBC, Dr Baban Rao Taywadey, National Convener, Rashtriya OBC MahaSangh, a federation of several OBC activist groups, today said that it is unfortunate that successive governments have failed to fulfil the constitution rights and demands of the people falling in OBC category.

“The latest census data is yet to be released, this show how apathetic the authorities have been,” Taywadey said.

After launching a successful camping in Maharashtra state that resulted in formation of separate OBC Ministry recently, Rashtriya OBC MahaSangh now seeks to have Central OBC ministry and in the states as well.

“During past few years, not a single OBC student has been admitted to any government or private medical college,” he rues. “Despite more than seventy years have passed since independence, OBC still have to struggle for the right that Constitution of India has already granted,” he added.

Rashtriya OBC MahaSangh in 2013 had launched an agitation and the first procession was held at Nagpur, after which the government of Maharashtra formed OBC ministry.

Today we have come together, Taywadey said while addressing a press conference to to put forth our demands which, if not met, we will launch Nagpur like agitation across country.

Taywadey also demanded revoking of Creamy-layer which according to him, has been telling upon the Constitutional right of OBC people
