Washington, Apr 7: In retaliation for this week’s gruesome chemical weapons attack against civilians, the United States on Thursday night fired a barrage of cruise missiles into Syria, a US Official was quoted as saying. As per the latest reports, dozens of Tomahawk cruise missiles were fired by the US at an air base in Syria at 8:45 p.m. (Eastern Time). Reportedly, the target was the Shayrat airfield.
It is the first direct American assault on the Bashar al-Assad-led Syrian government and can be termed as Donald Trump’s most dramatic military order since he took over as the President of United States in December last year.
