“Don’t jump barricades, don’t risk life” urges MLA Dhirendra Singh at impromptu Awareness Drive in Noida Sector18

People of all ages and gender jumping through high barricades near Noida sector-18 metro is no rare sight. The exercise continues through out the day and night. In order to save some time and efforts, instead of crossing thorough the nearby metro station, people jump the barricades to cross the roads amid fast traffic and continuous vehicular movement.

Yet on Friday Jewar legislator Thakur Dhirendra Singh took it upon himself to educate people and make an attempt to stop this nuisance.

On  hot afternoon, he stationed himself right at the point where people climb and jump to cross the barricades and appealed to everyone to follow rules and value their life.

Citizens were astonished to find the MLA on the road teaching these basic etiquette’s of road crossing. What else shocked everyone was the simplicity with which it was being done. There were no sloganeering party workers, no flags, no hoarding but a simple intent of making a small change and giving a big message.

The Impromptu Gesture

Jewar MLA Thakur Dhirendra Singh was returning from an event at District Magistrate’s camp office when he suddenly decided to make a visit at Noida’s busy market. He interacted with few vendors and took to twitter to request UP Police to look into complaints of extortion.

During the same, he witnessed people climbing and jumping from the barricades in between the road, not only risking their own life but also causing inconvenience to vehicular traffic. He quickly moved to the spot and urged every passerby to kindly follow the rule and use metro bridge for the purpose.

He said, “Life is precious and law abiding citizens of the city should not violate rules and risk their and others life for to save few minutes. Such practice must be stopped”.
