Eco-friendly Policing : Noida Traffic Police Promotes Car Pooling by Handing Over Tulsi Plants

Noida traffic police today promoted car-pooling through an innovative campaign in the city. The campaign was organized on the occasion of World Environment Day.

Noida commuters were in for a surprise today. Traffic police like always was stopping cars as part of regular checks but for a change was handing over Tulsi plants instead of challans.

The car-polling doesn’t falls into ambit of law hence people driving alone in large cars can’t be fined but they can as well be made aware of the benefits of car polling through a kind reminder. And this is exactly what Noida Traffic Police did today.

Noida Traffic Police stopped the people driving alone in the car and politely reminded them of benefits of car-pooling. They were also told about the adverse impact that every vehicle moving on the roads create on environment and how this load can be reduced by sharing the vehicles. Traffic police also gave them saplings of Tulsi Plant to promote message of planting tress and saving environment.

The campaign that was organized at several busy intersection of city namely, sector-1 roundabout, Stadium Intersection, Spice Mall Intersection and Degree College intersection.

Appreciable Gesture

Residents of Noida from all walks of life are all praise for this campaign and the beautiful message behind it.

The drive was undertaken on direction of SP (Traffic) Anil Kumar Jha. CO Traffic Vikas Jaiswal, TI Layak Singh, Deputy TI Avinash Saini and different traffic police constables took part in this campaign and handed over the plants.

Synergee and Ola cabs have collaborated with Noida Traffic police to propagate and support the cause further.
