European literary prowess on display at New Delhi World Book Fair 2018

New Delhi: Opening a window to the rich European literary and cultural production, this year’s New Delhi World Book Fair (WBF) being held at Pragati Maidan New Delhi from January 6th to 14th 2018 which will host the European Union (EU) as the Guest of Honour was inaugurated today.

In the Absence of Minister for Human Resource Development, Government of India, Prakash Javadekar. The World book fair was inaugurated by, Tomasz Kozlowski, Ambassador of European Union to lndia, Sunita Narain, distinguished environmentalist and Kallia Papadaki, Greek Author and recipient of European Union Prize for Literature, 2017.

ln what promises to be a treat for visitors, the European Union will bring together books, authors, publishers, iiiustrators, poets and artistes from 13 EU Member States (Austria, Cyprus, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Latvia, Poland, Portugal, Slovenia, Sweden) and Switzerland.

Exclusively Speaking to Ten News about EU’s participation at the prestigious WBF H.E. Tomasz Kozlowski, Ambassador of the European Union said, “We are delighted to partner with the National Book Trust for this year’s World Book Fair as Europe and lndia have a very rich and old literary tradition. Literature has the capacity to transcend borders and bring people together while raising important issues and enunciating universal truths. Through this fair we hope that the literary exchange will deepen and broaden our cultural ties further.”
