Farmer Unions uniting against the unfulfilled promises of BJP government

NEW DELHI: Coming down heavily upon the Madya Pradesh government for Mandsour incident, in which sever farmer were shot dead by police authorities, a conglomerate of several farmer rights activist groups today held a press conference in New Delhi.

While castigating the government for their alleged high-handedness Avik Saha said that the government is breaching the civil liberties in the state of Madya Pradesh.

“The fact that the authorities are not allowing any delegation to visit the affected areas and victim families in itself testifies that there is something murky going on that the government wants to conceal from general public,” Saha said.

Condemning the authority’s actions Swami Agnivesh alleged that atrocities are being committed on farmers and the state against all are getting united for a mass stir across the country for famer rights.

“If the central government can exempt lakhs of crores of rupees lent to big business houses in the name of NPA and bad loans, why can’t they exempt interests on meagre amounts burrowed by farmers,” he said. “When a farmer asks for his rights that PM Modi had promised to deliver in 2014, they are being shot down.”

The conglomerate consisted members from All India Kisan Sabha, Swaraj Abhiyan, Kisan Sangrash Samiti, and Jai Kisan Andholan.
