New Delhi: During prayer meet for former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Farooq Abdullah culminated his speech with “Bharat Mata ki jai and Jai Hind” slogans, surprising everyone.
Following which today, Farooq Abdullah was booed and shown shoes during a protest at Hazratbal. Some protestors took their shoes in their hands while shouting ‘Shame Shame’.
Farooq Abdullah faced the flak for raising Bharat Mata ki Jai slogans during Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s prayer meeting in New Delhi.
Speaking to Leading News Agency ANI, on protests against him during Eid prayers for raising ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’ slogans during Vajpayee’s prayer meet said,
“Mein darne wala nahi hun. Agar yeh samajhte hai ki isse azadi aayegi toh mein inko kehna chahta hun ki pehle begaari, beemari aur bhookmari se azadi pao.”
He also said, “Today, the time has come to have a peaceful dialogue between India and Pakistan. There is a need to get rid of hatred. This country belongs to Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs and Christians and all those who live here.”
