Father arrested for ‘honour killing’

 In an alleged case of honour killing, a 16-year-old girl and a boy reportedly in a relationship for the last few years, were strangled to death by the girl’s father in Greater Noida in a fit of rage. He later surrendered to the police confessing to the murders.

According to the police, the victims were planning to marry but it was being opposed by the family. “The man identified as Gulab (26), a resident of Meerut in Uttar Pradesh, was living as tenant in the girl’s house in Ganghola village in Greater Noida for the last six years,” said Brijesh Kumar Singh, Superintendent of Police, Greater Noida. “He was working with a musical band,” he said.
