1996 Calcutta killings related to the time when India was on the verge of a very debatable question and suitable answer was sought  for the political atmosphere was mountingn rapidly in  1946  Netaji Azad Hind Fauj had fought the British army the previous year and the smoke of the 2nd  world war was prevailing in the air the British government had decided doctrinally to leave  India and hand over the governance to Indians. under the leadership of  Mohammad Ali Jinnah the Muslim League head placed a demand to divide india on the issue of of Bi-religion  Calcutta was on the redar since it was the povoting centre of all economic activities many Muslim leader and Jinnah teamed up with H.S Suhrawardy tried hard  to include Bengal to the map of Pakistan this unwarranted signal  had made a  shivering sensation throughout  Bengal and its nerve  and Calcutta saw carnage. the horrific incident took 10,000 lives and  left 50,000 homeless

 

 

Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee stood  against the declaration of the direct action day by m a Jinnah in 1946.He confronted  the Muslim PM of the Bengal province HS sahrawardy and saved bengal  from being a part of Pakistan this unsung hero had to face the consequence the great Calcutta riot in 1946 he stood  resolutely with his timely advice of  Protibad at 1st then  pratirodh and pratishodh at last the founder of Janasangh  that eventually become BJP Dr. Mukherjee had the concept and visions that are relevant in today’s scenario  this is the first time Dr. Shyama Prasad is being presented in the silver screen the renowned  actor yudhishthir of the Mahabharata serial Mr Gajendra Chauhan has acted in the role of Shyama Prasad the film had to face is tremendous resistance  from the CBFC and had to fight for long 18 month for certification and ultimately got u/s a certification
