Football players of Ladakh and students of North Sikkim on excursion tour by ITBP met Hon’ble PM.

30 Football players from Ladakh region and 23 schoolchildren from North Sikkim called on Sh Narendra Modi, Hon’ble Prime Minister today at his residence. Sh R K Pachnanda, DG ITBP introduced the groups to the Hon’ble PM.

The tours have been organised by the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) Force under Civic Action Program (CAP). The Football players are from the top two Ladakh teams – Oasis and Mahabodhi of the 1st High Altitude Border Villages Friendship Football Tournament organised by ITBP in the months of October to November in Ladakh region.

The group of Sikkim comprised of students (11 Boys and 9 Girls) from Government schools, Chungthang and Lachen in North Sikkim.

Sh Modi interacted with the groups and wished them a bright future. The interaction of the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India will be a once in a life time moment for these children and will serve as the greatest motivating factor in their lives and also infuse them with patriotism.

The ITBP had conducted the 1st Friendship Tournament i.e. the 1st Border Village Football Tournament in all Frontiers of ITBP amongst 174 border (remote) villages along the Himalayan border.
