The RTI information provided by the Industrial Development Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh to activist Dr Nutan Thakur makes it clear that the then Chief Executive Officer of Noida had strongly opposed handing over of Yadav Singh case to CBI.

As per the RTI information, when the Lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court directed CBI enquiry on 16 July 2015, the CEO wrote to the Chief Secretary on 24 July saying that the State government has already appointed a judicial enquiry committee. The letter said that the Authority was not being able to attend to its development and other related issues and most of its time was being consumed in providing documents to this Committee and to Income Tax Department.

The letter said that if CBI enquiry gets initiated, it will consume all of Noida’s time and energy, which will adversely affect Noida’s development and proposed investments.

Information given to Lucknow based RTI Activist Nutan Thakur reveals that this CEO letter was made a major ground for opposing the High Court order in the Supreme Court.
