Former Divisional Commissioner of Meerut appointed as Chief Secretary of UP

A 1981 batch IAS officer of UP cadre Rajive Kumar has been appointed as Chief Secreatry of Uttar Pradesh.

Known as an upright officer, Rajive Kumar has held various important posts in the state. He previously served as the divisional commissioner of Saharanpur, Meerut as well as in the industrial development department.

It is being said that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was very keen to have Rajive Kumar as his chief secreatry when he took oath as CM of UP on 19th march. However the officer was on central deputation working as Secretary in the Union ministry of Shipping and hence due process was followed to get him back to state.

Officials are expecting another reshuffle on administrative level in the state after appointment of new chief Secretary.
