Yesterday 4 Students of Greater Noida’s Galgotias University died in a fatal car accident. The students were traveling to Pari Chowk after attending extra-classes in the campus. The vehicle had 10 occupants and the accident happened due to tyre burst while overtaking a truck at high speed.

Following the unfortunate incident CEO of Galgotias University Dhruv Galgotia has issued condolence message and have also urged all students to take utmost care while commuting on roads.

He said, “Only a few days before the festival of Diwali and on the day of Karvachauth, where women are keeping a fast for the long life of their husbands, four mothers have lost their children forever. The dreams they had for their children have been shattered and their families have been broken and incomplete due to the loss of their loved ones. The four students were very hard working and sincere and the entire university was proud of their achievements. The University shares the pain of family members in this hour of extreme grief”.

Drive Safely, Follow Traffic Rules

The University administration has also appealed to all the students to follow traffic rules and understand the importance of safe driving.

Dhruv Galgotia said, “This is not the first time an accident has taken place on the expressway. Every other day I hear about accidents involving families, children, students and staff getting involved in this unfortunate situation sometimes caused by fast driving, rash driving and drunk driving. Some are lucky and get away with minor injuries but some have to pay with their own lives”.

He further adds, “I urge all who are driving to the university in their own vehicles – to please be vigilant and careful while using the express way and service lanes for commuting and NEVER drive your vehicles over the prescribed speed limit or in an intoxicated state or indulge in rash driving. I have always urged my students to drive slow and safe”.

Stressing about the responsibility that every student has towards their families and Universities role in the same he says, “Your lives and wellbeing are not only important and valuable to us but also to your parents who have great aspirations for you. They have trusted upon us as an institution to make you socially responsible citizens of this country and I plead you on behalf of the entire university to be careful while driving and commuting to the University”.
