GBU Social Service Club Promotes ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao” intiative through mesmerizing play

(22/04/2017) Greater Noida: On the occasion of Annual day of Gautam Buddha University, Greater Noida, the institutes social service club organized various events to promote “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao”, initiative. The convenor of the club Dr Sandhya Tarar also felicitated other simultaneous activities such as poster making, painting as well as a Q&A session.
The prime event of the day long activity was a play titled, “Beti Hai To Kal Hai”. A beautiful script combined with flawless acting by group of college students made it an inspiring watch. The story dealt with issue of “female foeticide” and gave a powerful message to the present audience.
Around 1,500 students and faculty members combined witnessed the play and were enthralled with the performance.
Speaking at the events university society convener Sandhya Tarar said, “The gender imbalance is still a prominent problem in India. On gender equality index the country features at 127th place out of 146 recorded countries. It is high time that our society takes this menace seriously and awareness against female foeticide is extremely necessary at the moment. With adequate assistance from the university, our society will leave no stone unturned to fight for rights and status of women in our country”.
Social service club member from the university Vishal Mehta, Vikas Sahlot, Aarti, Shikha, Sanchi, Shweta, Vyomika Singh, Varsha, Kshitij actively took part in the events and ensured its fine execution.
