“Geeks Can’t teach and teachers can’t geek”. Efforts from both the sides needed lest we should leave the geeks as start ups forever and not let Universities remain traditional forever said Prof. Sudhakar Rao Director – Branding, ICFAI Group while delivering the keynote address  titled “The Crucible of EdTech” at Higher Education Technology Conference 2018 at Bengaluru held on 22nd March 2018.

He further said education technology is as wide as education itself. Educational Technology implies the use of all educational resources- men, materials, methods and techniques, means and media in an integrated and systematic manner for optimized learning. With the help of various applications, the internet, teachers, and students themselves, see the advantage of educational technology.

Prof. Sudhakar Rao explained “Marketing automation pitching is often unrealistic, laced with jargon and difficult to understand”. They must adapt Accenture style of result orientation he suggested.

Higher education institutions are relying more on marketing automation to establish and maintain meaningful relationships with students and alumni. The next decade will unarguably be the decade of collaborative deep learning. Computer supported collaborative learning is the one that uses instructional methods designed to encourage or require students to work together on learning tasks.

We need to adapt the collaborative learning methods by redesigning models and should articulate their knowledge both visually and verbally, said Prof. Sudhakar Rao.

The Conference was attended by large number of delegates from  across the country representing various leading educational institutions .
