India Expo Mart limited (IEML) Chairman Rakesh Kumar shares thoughts on Successful Hosting of Auto Expo 2018

Rakesh Kumar, Chairman, India Expo Mart Limited is one of the most renowned names in the domain of expo’s and handicrafts in India. He is the dynamic person who’s vision, concept and efforts transformed in to development of India Expo Mart Limited, which remains one of the most renowned landmarks in Delhi/NCR. Today India Expo Mart hosts world level conferences, expo’s, seminars etc. and is giving a global recognition to the city and state.
India Expo Mart recently hosted Auto Expo 2018 for the third time and on successful conclusion of this great motor show, we spoke to IEML Chairman Rakesh Kumar to know about various behind the curtain aspects of hosting such a grand event.
Below are the excerpts of the conversation :
Q- In terms of venue provider, what are the challenges IEML faced in organizing Auto Expo 2018?
A- It is quite a challenge for all involved to organize such a grand event. First is to provide all the facilities to the national and international exhibitors at the venue. Secondly, the transportation system to the venue becomes of great concern to all as still metro connectivity is pending to IEML. As we all know, Greater Noida is a developing city and this was the biggest challenge for us to provide transportation to the visitors to the venue and we did it with the help of providing free bus services from metro station. However we are very sure that in next few months the metro will become operational and hence the ease of connectivity to the Expo Mart will further get better. We already have good roads which result in greater distance travelled in less time, thereafter the district is also in process to get its own airport. Hence on the transport side we can say that things look very bright in future. Apart from these I’m also thankful to Greater Noida administration for their co-operation and support, which made the flawless execution of this event possible.
Q – What are the challenges you have faced in providing uninterrupted power supply to the venue?
A- Before the event was to be held, we met with the Noida Power Company officials who have assured us to provide uninterrupted power supply to the venue 24×7. Besides, we are also generating 2 MW power at the venue through solar power plant installed at the roof top of the complex. And in next six months we will add 1 MW more into that.
Q – Are you satisfied with the cooperation of district administration, police administration and Greater Noida Authority?
A – We are more than satisfied with the cooperation of Gautam Buddh Nagar District magistrate BN Singh and Greater Noida Authority CEO Debashish Panda. The success of event enhances the image of not only Greater Noida but also India in the world.
Q – Do you think, the next edition of Auto Expo 2020 will also happen in Greater Noida?
A – From last couple of years, we have been holding scores of event at the venue and we haven’t faced any withdrawals yet. The organizers of Auto Expo are also satisfied with us, so, we can expect next edition at the same venue however nothing has been finalized as of yet.
