New Delhi: After BJP’s national Information and Technology cell head Amit Malviya landed the saffron party in a controversy on Tuesday when he tweeted about the dates of the Karnataka Assembly election before the Election Commission announced it through a press conference.

Today Indian Youth Congress, Staged a Protest against Election Commission for leaking its confidential information pertaining to Karnataka Assembly Elections to BJP. The IYC staged a Protest march in Capital against Election Commission for leaking its confidential details pertaining to the election dates of Karnataka Assembly to the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party.

In an unprecedented move even before the election commission announcing the dates of Karnataka Assembly Elections, 2018 the IT cell head of the ruling party Bharatiya Janata Party Amit Malviya tweeted about the dates of the Karnataka Assembly election.

Speaking to Ten News, Indian Youth Congress Workers said, “Amit Malviya tweeted Karnataka elections dates at 11 am. It means BJP is dictating polling dates to Election Commission. We expect EC to work according to the Constitution and law, and not let information leak. Such a thing has never happened before.The credibility of the Election Commission of India as an institution and the sanctity of India’s democratic processes is at stake.”
