Internationl Food and Beverages Expo Inaugurated by Union Minister Suresh Prabhu at Expo Mart

Today two-day ‘Indus Food’ – A mega International Food and Beverages Expo began at India Expo Mart in Greater Noida. The motive behind this event is to boost India’s agro and food exports in the global market.

The event was inaugurated by Union Commerce and Industry Minister Mr. Suresh Prabhu.  After the inauguration he visited all most all the stalls and acknowledged the details of products by various exhibitors taking part in this expo.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Interacting with media at the event he said “I hope Indus food expo will not only benefits exporters but also help in improving financial conditions of our farmers and all those who are engaged in agri business.

Further he said “there was a time during  60’s when we were not able to full fill our food requirements and we have to import it from foreign nation but now we are not only able to full fill our needs but are also in a situation to export it. Our happiness is when exhibitors  here will say that whatever we offered all got sold out but costumer still want more. I will say that when consumers want to purchase  more and more that will be real successes of the event”.

The event has over 400 exhibitors including representatives from 12 state and department and around global buyers from 43 nations are visiting the event. “We have planned 9000 business meetingz during this 2 day event” said TPCI Chairman Mohit Singhal.

“Doubling the farmer’s income is only possible when our agri export grows by 18%- 20% and for this we need integration with global marketplace. Our autonomous bodies are also working with exporters, while state governments are also being roped in to prepare ground for exports of their produce” Mr. Sarangi , joint Secretary in Department of Commerce added.
