Investors Summit 2018: Series of roadshows Kicks off in Delhi

Uttar Pradesh is all set to host a grand investors’ summit on February 21 and 22, 2018, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurating it and President Ram Nath Kovind being present as a special invitee at the closing ceremony. The two-day event, kicked off with a series of roadshows on Friday in New delhi.A high level delegation led by Industrial development Minister Satish Mahana and comprised of senior government officials like Anup Chandra Pandey, Alok Sinha, Principal Secretary, Infrastructure & Industrial Development Department, Sanjiv Saran, Additional Chief Secretary, IT & Electronics Department,  Sudhir Garg, Principal Secretary, Agriculture Department, Amit Mohan Prasad, Principal Secretary, Agriculture Department and Alok Kumar, Principal Secretary, Energy Department etc. Were present at the event.

Satish Mahana Minister of industrial development UP Government addressing Investors Summit 2018 Said, “The ‘Make in India’ program of the Government of lndia has been able to draw the global attention by driving investments, fostering innovation, developing skills, protecting Intellectual Property and building best in class manufacturing infrastructure. As a strategy to usher industrial growth in uttar Pradesh and capatalise on the positive global sentiments generated by the progress of Make in lndia campaign, the GOUP will embrace this landmark initiative and strive to implement it in letter and spirit by launching comprehensive program of ‘Make in UP’.

Alok Sinha, Principal Secretary,
Infrastructure and Industrial Development Department explained the various policy incentives and steps taken towards enabling ease of doing business in the state.

He Said, “Accelerating employment growth is crucial for uplifting the socio-economic status of the citizens of the state and offer them higher standards of living. Given the state is witnessing a significant demographic growth with an expanding working age population, the GoUP intends to lay emphasis on creation of opportunities that would directly augment employment in the StateTowards this,the policy intends to offer a right environment ensuring these employment opportunities are inclusive in nature and reachesall sections of the society& regions ofthe state. The policy will also incentivise industrial units creating employment opportunities tor both skilled and unskilled workers in all the regions of the state”.

Arun Vir Singh CEO Yamuna Authority Speaking Exclusively to Ten News said, “The road show will focus on promoting the state as a preferred investment destination and highlighting the investment opportunities in Uttar Pradesh. The roadshow will be followed by B2G meetings in which the Government will individually address investor concerns and queries as well as how the state can be a part of their future investment/ expansion plans”.
