IPL 2019: Saurav Ganguly and Ricky Ponting all set to change fortunes of Delhi Capitals

New Delhi: The Delhi Capital, led by young and dynamic Shreyas Iyer, will begin their IPL 2019 campaign against the Mumbai Indians on March 24.

With Australian Former Captain Ricky Ponting as the Head Coach, Former India captain and Legend of Indian Cricket Team Sourav Ganguly has been appointed advisor for the Delhi IPL franchise ahead of the upcoming 12th season of the IPL this year.

On Tuesday, Delhi Capitals Held a Joint Press Conference with Head Coach Ricky Ponting and Team Advisor Sourav Ganguly at Taj Mahal Hotel in New Delhi.

Speaking on the Occasion, Former Indian Captain Sourav Ganguly said, “I’m Very happy to be with him (Ricky) here. I will try and support him in every way. I was always envious about how well Ricky always played the pull shot.”

Praising the Young Talent, Ganguly said,

Prithvi Shaw is naturally talented, Manjot Kalra also has natural ability, the more they will play they will keep on improving.”

Talking about the Top 3 for India he said, Team India’s top 3 has the quality which other team don’t possess.”

Former Australian Cricket Team Captain, Ricky Ponting said, “We’ve got a good blend of youth and experience in our squad. I think we could achieve some really special things this season. I absolutely admired the leadership style of Saurav for the Indian Team. I envied the way he played spin bowling.”

He further said, “We’ve got a lot of all-rounders and that gives us extra bowling options. It gives us the ability to have various playing combinations.
Sandeep has been around the world playing T20s recently. Hopefully he can arrive and have a great start to the season.
