Jewellers strike gold on Dhanteras
Diwali would lose much of its sheen had it not been for gold. The city rang in the festive week on Tuesday with Dhanteras as hundreds of shoppers thronged jewellery and utensil shops. Also known as Dhanatrayodashi, Dhanteras is considered to be an auspicious day for buying jewellery, especially gold.
