New Delhi: Veteran Congress leader and Supreme Court advocate Kapil Sibal on Saturday said that Congress has won Karnataka election battle in the Supreme Court and expected to repeat the same in Karnataka assembly during floor test which is going to take place in today at 4 pm.

Challenging Karnataka governor decision for giving 15 days to BJP to prove its majority in the house, Congress knocked Supreme Court’s door. After two days of intensive hearing SC on Saturday ordered that, the ruling BJP has to prove his majority at the house today at 4 pm and proceedings of the assembly will be shown live on televisions to usher in transparency.

“After SC’s order to BJP to prove its majority in the house by 4 pm today, we urged the SC to remove KG Bopaiah from the pro-tem speaker post because his recent activates were malicious. But SC said if you want to remove KG Bopaiah then you have to file fresh application and then the court has to extend date of the floor test. But we are not agreed.”

“Later, court found the middle path to usher in transparency during the floor test and ordered for live telecast of the assembly proceedings.” He added.

He said while addressing media at party headquarter in Delhi.

In the following event, Congress leader and SC lawyer, who defended Congress in the Karnataka election case, Abhishek Manu Singhvi said, “We won the battle. In last two days, we prevent Karnataka CM to take any policy related decisions, we prevent secret bail out and instead of 15 days floor test is in 2 days. These are our achievements. Congress is hopeful that now the democracy will win.”
