Kathua rape: JKPCC chief says real culprit of Kathua rape is still free, BJP demands resignation

New Delhi: Continuing attack on Congress over party’s stand on Kathua gang rape and murder case, BJP on Sunday said that the party has done its part by asking both ministers to resign who took part in the protest in support of Kathua case accused but when will Congress suspend his J&K Chief G Abdul Mir who is saying real culprit of Kathua rape is still free and questioning the authenticity of the report in a video surfaced recently.

While addressing media Union Minister and BJP spokesperson, Prakash Javadekar said, “What the J&K Congress chief said over Kathua rape case report is shameful. Congress should suspend him immediately.”

Recently, a video surfaced of JKPCC (Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee) chief G A Mir who is supping CBI probe in the Kathua Rape case in a video uploaded about one month back (on March 1, 2018). He had said that the real culprit had not been caught and political scores were being settled through this case. He had also said that he supported justice for the rape victim.

He had also claimed that those arrested by crime branch are innocents and the real criminals are free. He has changed track in recent times from his earlier statements. Suddenly, on April 11, Congress along with CPIM had condemned the protest by lawyers of Jammu, claiming that they had political motives.

Commenting over the the links between Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha, Gulam Nabi Azad’s link with Jammu and Kashmir Bar Association President BS Slathia who led the protest of advocates and refrain police to file charge sheet in Asifa gang rape and murder case.

Union Minister Javadekar said, “In a media report it is proved that Slathia, was Azad’s chief election agent in the 2014 elections and now he (Azad) is saying that he has no connection with the party? He should tender apology for it.”
He further added, “What the PM has promised will be implement. The party has full trust on Judiciary and we are demanding for fast-track court and offender should be punished within a month.”
