Lack of safety measures claimed lifes of four sanitation workers, alleged WUCI

Workers Unity Centre of India (WUCI) condemned the role of Delhi Administration in the case of death of 4 sanitation workers in Ghitorni area of Delhi on Saturday.  

WUCI stated that the sanitation workers were not provided safety gears despite the dangerous nature of their work, which at times claimed their lifes. In this case too, the sanitation workers had descended into a septic tank in order to unclog it, when the toxic gases inside made them unconscious. They were later pulled out of the tank, but could not regain consciousness, they alleged. 

WUCI urged a proper compensation should be immediately provided to the deceased workers’ family under the provisions of the 2008 Act.
